The Geneva Red Wings beat the Watertown Rapids 6-5 on Monday, in a 14 inning thriller.
Watertown opened the scoring up in the 2nd when Trevor Fagan hit an RBI double. The scoring would continue for Watertown as Fagan would score on a wild pitch, making it 2-0.
Next inning, Watertown expanded their lead as James Kirk would blast a solo home-run.
The Wings would respond in the bottom half of the third. Harrison Treble got things going with an RBI single. A few batters later, Brock Kaufman also hit an RBI single. Trevor Rogers then hit a two-RBI double to give Geneva a 4-3 lead.
In the 6th inning, James Krick’s sacrifice fly tied the game back up at four.
Watertown retook the lead in the 7th as a single from Fagan made it 5-4.
A big solo home run from Brandon Cooper in the 8th would tie the game back up at five and it would go to extra innings.
In the 14th inning, the game would finally be decided as Trevor Roger’s RBI double gave Geneva the 6-5 win.
Geneva hosts Newark on Wednesday June 26th for a doubleheader, starting at 5 pm.
