Welcome Head Coach Siary and Assistant Bermudez

May 28, 2024 - The Geneva Red Wings welcome Coach John Siary and Assistant Coach Dave Bermudez to the team for the 2024 season.


John was born and raised in Albany, NY and graduated from Bishop Maginn High School in 1986. He went on to play baseball his first year at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY where he graduated with a B.A. in History/Political Science and a Minor in Sociology in 1992. After retiring from the United States Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel with 27 years of honorable and faithful service, John decided to pursue his passion to teach and coach.


John has been an assistant coach at East Memorial Christian Academy in Alabama, head coach and assistant baseball coach at Gramercy Christian school in North Carolina, an assistant baseball and strength coach at Landrum High School in South Carolina. John was a volunteer assistant baseball and strength coach at Starkville Academy and most recently, the head baseball and strength and conditioning coach at Oak Hill Academy where his team won the 2023 (Mid South Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) 4A State Championship and he was named the MAIS 4A Coach of the Year. Over the past 9 years, John has been a part of programs that have won three Regional Titles, two District Titles, two Upper State Titles and four State Titles.


He and his beautiful wife Caroline have been married for 27 years and have two incredible children, John Patrick (Francis Marion University) and Evan (Mississippi State University). John is extremely excited about the opportunity to coach summer collegiate baseball and has very high expectations for his athletes both in the community and on the field.



Assistant Coach David Bermudez is a recent five year Division One baseball player. He spent three years at Rider University where he completed an undergraduate degree. He did one year at Manhattan College and a final year at Stetson University where he completed his MBA. Throughout his career he slugged 23 home runs and finished with a career batting average of .310. He was Two Time All conference player and Male Athlete of the Year winner.


David played in the PGCBL in 2019 for the Newark Pilots and was an All Star. He is excited to be back in the Perfect Game League and with the team this year.  "See you at McDonough Park!!", he commented.
